Reconciliation (Confession)

First Penance is celebrated prior to First Communion in the second grade. At least one parent is expected to attend a retreat for the parents of second graders, if they have not done so in the past three years. The retreat is held in the fall of the year prior to their child receiving the sacrament for the first time.

The Church sees confession as such an important part of our faith that she requires every Catholic go at least once a year. More frequent confessions are encouraged in order to grow closer to Jesus Christ and the Church.
