Message from Father King (October 2021)

Message from Father King:

On Wednesday, September 29th, there was meeting for all active priests in our Archdiocese concerning The Beacons of Light initiative in which the draft of the Families of Parishes was revealed to the priests of the Archdiocese. On Thursday, September 30th, there was a similar meeting also at Good Shepherd Parish for all Catholic school principals and presidents.

This past Friday, October 1st, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati released the draft of Families of Parishes to the public for review and comment. This draft is the result of the Pastoral Planning process known as The Beacons of Light, an Archdiocesan wide initiative. A Family of Parishes is a grouping of parishes under a single pastor and is characterized by a collaboration of the various parishes to operate as a single and unified parish. While Guardian Angels is already paired with St. Jerome Parish, we will be combined with at least one other church to create a family. Under the draft just released of the Families of Parishes, that parish is St. John Fisher.

The draft of our new Family is now available at BeaconsAOC.org. The Archdiocese needs to hear your comments. Parishioner input will be very important in the framing of the future of our Archdiocese. You can add your two cents or a whole dollar’s worth of comments. I invite you to go on and share your thoughts, anytime between now and October 20th.

I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate through the Family of Parish process.

God Bless,
Fr King
